Friends Gather to Support Hospice

Published: Thursday, April 30, 2015

One hundred fifty friends of VNA, western Pennsylvania gathered at the Butler Country Club in April for the 10th annual Friendship Luncheon.

Mistress of Ceremonies for the beach-themed event was Kathy Gregory-Steiner (Kate), from WISR 680 Radio’s Coffee with Kate morning show.

Proceeds benefit Friends of Hospice, which provides support to patients with unique needs. In the past, Friends of Hospice has paid for hotel stays, holiday dinners and other meals, appliances, utility bills and even a wedding cake for a ceremony held at the Inpatient Hospice unit.

Attendees, many of whom have been touched by hospice in some way, enjoyed lunch and a gift basket raffle. Entertainment by the Strolling Strings from Butler High School was donated by the group’s instructor, whose mother was a hospice patient years ago.

Margie Walsh, executive director of VNA, western Pennsylvania, extended her sincere thanks to all who have generously supported VNA and the Hospice program.

Kathy Gregory-Steiner and some of her family enjoyed a wonderful afternoon at the Friendship Luncheon. From L to R front row: Pamela Warford, Leslie Osche, Kathy Gregory-Steiner; from L to R back row: Jackie Warford, Dawn Grochalski, Jessica Gregory.
