LIFE Beaver County’s 9th Annual Art Show Posted on February 24, 2025February 28, 2025 For the LIFE Beaver County participants, art is more than just a hobby—it’s a way to express their stories, emotions, and creativity. Over the past year, the Art Club program has provided a space for self-expression, and 58 participants explored different artistic techniques and shared their talents. This year’s event featured 58 contributors who showcased a wide range of artistic styles, from paintings and drawings to intricate collages crafted from newspaper and magazine clippings. Some participants worked on their pieces at home, while others attended the weekly Art Club, which rotates days to ensure that as many people as possible can participate. Artists proudly posed for photos with their artwork. Some of those include Tom Shaffer’s autumn-inspired masterpiece—a depiction of fall trees with red and yellow hues against sturdy brown trunks—or Delores Slappy’s transformed tissue paper into an exquisite bouquet of colorful flowers. She also crafted an intricate collage, weaving together words and imagery to create a truly one-of-a-kind piece of art. The show also featured artwork created during Guided Painting sessions, which were added throughout the year to allow participants to explore new styles and techniques. These sessions encouraged creative exploration and resulted in stunning contributions to the exhibition. A touching moment came at the close of each day’s show when one participant, a skilled photographer, shared her work in a special way; she submitted a beautifully captured photograph and paired it with a heartfelt, self-written poem. To honor their dedication and creativity, each artist received an art certificate, symbolizing their hard work and passion over the past year. A sincere congratulations to all of these amazing participants.
