A Fresh Look for St. John Community Posted on August 31, 2026 If you’ve seen St. John Community lately, you may have noticed it looks a little different. The exterior transformation we first shared earlier this month has taken shape, replacing the building’s longtime yellow exterior with a fresh, darker color and giving the campus an entirely new look. But this project was about more than changing the color of a building. Established in 1893, St. John Community has served older adults for more than 130 years. Caring for a campus with that kind of history means continuing to invest in it — preserving what has made St. John special while making sure the community remains welcoming and well cared for for the people who call it home today and those who will in the years ahead. The project included repairs to the building’s façade along with the new exterior paint. When work began, Community Executive Director Samantha Rapuk described it as one of the many ways St. John continues to invest in its campus so that the outside reflects the warmth, dignity and quality of care found inside. None of it would have been possible without the generosity of others. We are especially grateful to The George H., Lillian S., and Mary S.
