Residents at St. John Community were treated to an afternoon of nostalgia and harmony as the Cranberry Men’s Chorus sang many beloved classics. As part of their musical memories tour, the 40-man a cappella barbershop group performed a special concert designed to stir joy and reminiscence through song. “We’re singing recognizable stuff—songs they grew up with,” said Ron Brooks, the group’s singing director. “The idea is to reach them in the heart with memories. It’s fun for us too.” Seventeen members of the chorus delivered heartfelt renditions of timeless favorites, including Can’t Buy Me Love by The Beatles, Only You by The Platters, What the World Needs Now is Love by Jackie DeShannon, and Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond. Their warm harmonies and lively energy invited residents to sing along, smile, and reflect on cherished moments from their past. Brooks emphasized the importance of bringing music to those who may not have the opportunity to attend live performances. “This is something I wanted to do—a giveback to the community,” he shared.
