Ten employees from Lutheran SeniorLife were honored for their outstanding dedication to health care at the 8th annual Butler County Health Care Worker Recognition event on Wednesday, March 12, at The Atrium. From the Visiting Nurses Association of Western PA (VNA), five team members were recognized:

  • Stan Kendziorski, Hospice Volunteer
  • Danielle Hoffman, Marketing Supervisor
  • Sam Medved, Hospice Social Worker
  • Mary Senge, VNA RN
  • Courtney McKissick, Central Intake LPN

St. John Community was also well represented, with honors going to:

LIFE Butler County‘s team was recognized for their tireless dedication:

  • Barbara Welsh, Administrative Assistant

And in Rehabilitation Services,

  • Linda Kleemann, Rehabilitation Technician, was honored for her invaluable contributions.

The event, hosted by the Butler County Health Care Consortium, recognized their hard work and celebrated the impact these professionals have on individuals, families, and the entire county. Butler Mayor Bob Dandoy, the keynote speaker, praised the honorees for their perseverance, compassion, and ability to navigate the challenges of their profession.

“You all show up, day after day, putting in the effort, pushing boundaries,” Dandoy said. “Your work doesn’t just change individual lives. It ripples out into families, neighborhoods, and entire communities.”

For Mary Senge, a registered nurse with the VNA for nearly three decades, the evening was a reminder of the impact her work has had. She shared a powerful story of a moment when she knew she had changed someone’s life forever.

“I got a letter from a wife of a patient saying she wanted to thank me because I saved her husband’s life,” Senge recalled. “He was in a facility I was working at, and I sent him to the hospital because he was bleeding. They then found out right away what was going on, and she was just so happy we got him there in time.”

These 10 employees embody the values and mission of Lutheran SeniorLife every day. Their dedication strengthens our communities, their expertise enhances the lives of those we serve, and their compassion ensures that those we serve are treated with dignity and respect.

“I extend my deepest gratitude and heartfelt congratulations to Stan, Danielle, Sam, Mary, Courtney, Kim, Susan, Emily, Barbara, and Linda for this well-deserved recognition,” said  David J. Fenoglietto, President and CEO at Lutheran SeniorLife. “Your hard work does not go unnoticed, and we are honored to have you as part of our team. Thank you for your commitment, your passion, and the difference you make, one life at a time.”
