LIFE Butler County Serves Connection and Comfort with Thanksgiving Dinners Posted on November 26, 2025November 26, 2025 A Thanksgiving meal carries importance that goes far beyond the food on the plate. This time of year, a warm, home-cooked dinner represents belonging, tradition, and the reassurance that no one is forgotten. At LIFE Butler County, that meaning guides their work, and it is why the nutritional services team came together to prepare more than 70 Thanksgiving meals for participants. This year, 41 dinners were shared around the tables at the Center, where participants gathered, laughed, and celebrated together. Another 30 meals were prepared and delivered to those unable to attend in person, including participants in the “Under Our Wing” program who continue to live independently in their own apartments. Each meal was planned and cooked with intention, ensuring every individual received the same sense of connection and care. Behind the scenes, the impact of last year’s kitchen upgrade, a new commercial oven, has transformed what LIFE Butler County can produce by expanding capacity, improving quality, and enabling the team to meet the needs of a growing community. This Thanksgiving’s success is a direct result of that investment and the dedication of a staff committed to preparing these meals that help participants feel connected, valued, and supported during a time of year when it matters most. “When we cook these meals, we are thinking about the people on the other side of the plate, many of whom count on LIFE Butler County as their family,” said Darla Evans, Director of Nutritional Services for LIFE. “Thanks to our team, we can give them a Thanksgiving meal that represents comfort, familiarity, and the feeling that someone cares. That is why this work matters.”
