Passavant’s Second Annual Field Day Proves Wellness Can Be Fun at Any Age Posted on July 29, 2025 Passavant Community, residents gathered for what may have looked like an afternoon of games, but turned out to be something much more. They were celebrating their Second Annual Passavant Community Field Day, a tradition that’s quickly becoming a campus favorite. The day was inspired by the ASPIRE Wellness Dimensions—six pillars designed to help people find balance and meaning at every stage of life: Active, Intellectual, Spiritual, Relational, Purposeful, and Expressive. Through laughter, teamwork, and creativity, residents explored them all. “It’s like the Olympics for the heart,” said Brian Damaska, ASPIRE Wellness Manager. “Every station may look like a game, but they’re disguised to remind everyone no matter where you are in life, joy, purpose, and connection are always within reach.” At the Active station, residents lined up to toss darts through hoops, racking up points like pros at a carnival. Then there was President Abraham Lincoln—or a pretty convincing version of him—who quizzed participants on his life while they scrambled to spell words like “emancipation” and “Gettysburg” from jumbled letters. It was all part of the Intellectual challenge. “I never thought I’d be tested about Abraham Lincoln again,” one resident joked. At the Spiritual station, residents created dazzling spin art inspired by Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. The artwork was as radiant as the people who made it. Relational wellness got residents partnered up, guiding a ball through a maze with communication and the idea of trying to finishing with the fastest time. Then came the dirt. For the Purposeful challenge, participants raced to fill pots with soil that will be used to plant flowers and trees. And finally, there was Expressive wellness, where music took center stage. Residents sang lines of favorite songs, debunked music myths, and even wrote original lyrics. There were prizes for all of this of course. The top three teams and top three individuals in each wellness category received trophies and ribbons along with bragging rights. “Thank you to everyone who played, volunteered, and helped make this event a success,” Damaska said. “Field Day is about celebrating the best of who we are which is active, engaged, and connected. Congratulations to our winners, and to everyone who showed up and had fun, you’re what makes this community special.”
