Are You Ready for Some Football?

Super Bowl Sunday is right around the corner on February 4th. Whether you are interested in the game, the commercials or the half-time show, you won’t want to miss a thing due to hearing or vision impairment. Magnifiers and amplifiers for your television will help you enjoy the entire show!

Even with the popularity of large screen televisions, changes in your vision may require you to still need some viewing assistance. Consider a pair of TV glasses. These are binocular type glasses that magnify 2.1X and offer a 20 degree field of vision. The glasses are adjustable and provide the clearest view when used at least 10 feet away from the TV. You can find them online for $70-$200, depending on the seller. If you would like assistance with your selection, you can schedule an appointment with our Low Vision Specialists at (724) 452-3492.

There are also ways to improve your listening experience as well. Closed captioning is available and can usually be turned on by accessing the settings on your television. There are also several devices that can amplify sound:

  • Wireless headphones
  • Wireless streaming devices that stream sound from the TV to your hearing aides
  • Loop systems
  • Wireless hearing aid streaming
  • Home theater systems (vocal clarity devices)
