Foundation Hosts New Annual Fundraising Event

The Lutheran SeniorLife Foundation will bring new life to their largest annual fundraiser at Carnegie Science Center’s Point View Hall and Terrace on April 26, 2019.

Bold colors, mobile giving and a lively atmosphere are just some of the many changes in store for the charity event which has gone by the name of the Excellence is Ageless Gala for the past 15 years.

This coming year, the occasion will be called We Gather Together: A Celebration of Us.

“The largest difference with this event is that we are focusing on telling the entire story of Lutheran SeniorLife,” said Jane Bittcher, president of the Lutheran SeniorLife Foundation.

“An emphasis will be placed on celebrating our organization while honoring the diversity of the people we serve.”

On the day of the event, guests will be invited to the third floor of the Carnegie Science Center where they will be amazed by the stunning views of the Pittsburgh skyline and river scenery from Point View Hall.

The event will begin with a reception starting at 6 p.m. followed by a brief program at 7 p.m.

Afterward, guests will be tempted to explore food and dessert stations as they mingle throughout the night.

An exciting addition will feature the chance for visitors to participate in giving opportunities through their mobile devices with perhaps, the most comfortable aspect of the celebration, being the ability for guests to come and go as they please.

“I’ve been with Lutheran SeniorLife for more than 13 years now and I think we have such a great story to tell,” Bittcher said.

“We have wonderful staff members and terrific participants, so this event gives us a chance to honor everybody involved.”

Among the many fresh amenities this new gathering will showcase, Bittcher is particularly looking forward to the location.

“It’s exciting to be holding the event at not only a new venue to Pittsburgh but a new setting for us as an organization,” Bittcher said.

“Our hope is that the occasion is as bright and uplifting as the theme itself.”

Along with a cheerful evening of joining together, guests will also receive one free general admission to the Carnegie Science Center.

All proceeds from We Gather Together: A Celebration of Us will go to the Mission Fund – a collection reserved for those we serve which offers support for the programs and services of Lutheran SeniorLife.
