Special Wishes Granted for Three Passavant Community Residents

Three residents of Passavant Community had their wishes come true thanks to the generosity of Twilight Wish – Butler County PA Chapter. Twilight Wish is a foundation that grants wishes made by seniors in the community with a mission to “Honor and enrich the lives of deserving seniors through intergenerational Twilight Wish Celebrations.”

Megan Migyanko, a social worker at Passavant, nominated the three residents stating, “I sought out nominating residents for a Twilight Wish because everyone deserves to experience the things that mean the most to them.”

Shirley Wright, a Trillium resident, visited the house she grew up in and the school she attended in the Franklin Park area. Afterwards, she went out to lunch at her favorite restaurant, Eat’n Park. All of this was done cruising around in a convertible, donated for the day by Lynn Marie, owner of ‘The Helping Hand Placement Agency’.Judy Hartman

“I am passionate about older adults getting to experience life to the fullest!” stated Marie about donating her time and car. When asked what her favorite part of the day was Shirley said “I can’t just choose one thing, it was all so memorable and wonderful!”

The second resident, Judy Hartman, had the wish of going to the movies to see a musical. For her day, her family and friends joined her at The Strand Theater in Zelienople for a private showing of La La Land.

The third resident, Audrey Rauterkus wish? A full on Disney themed day! Visits by several princesses, Mickey treats and other Disney character appearances marked her special day of fun.

“It’s wonderful to see our residents experience the things that are meaningful to them” said Migyanko. It has been rewarding to hear them talk about their days they shared with friends and family.”
