Disco Revival: Passavant Community Residents Move to the Beat at 70’s Party Posted on November 25, 2025 When the lights dimmed, and the upbeat music began to play, it was hard to tell if you were at a nightclub or somehow still in the Scholl Conference Center at Passavant Community. Welcome to the Disco Nightclub Party. Residents of the nursing households arrived to find a space transformed by soft lights, bright, flashy colors, and a dance floor. A DJ spun the ’70s classics, an era known for its vibrant disco music and iconic hits. Residents sipped mocktail punch and enjoyed snacks and when they weren’t taking a break for refreshment, they made their way onto the dance floor to the rhythmic beats of disco, funk, and soul. It didn’t matter who needed a walker or a wheelchair, or who moved more slowly than they used to. Everyone danced. Some standing. Some seated. But everyone was swaying to the rhythm of a song they hadn’t forgotten. What made it special wasn’t the theme or the lights (though both were amazing setups thanks to the hardworking Passavant staff). It was the feeling in the room. Age may change the way someone moves, but it doesn’t change the part of us that wants to move. The part that still remembers the thrill of a favorite song or the courage it takes to get onto the floor and just let loose. And that’s the heart of Passavant Community. Not just caring for people, but celebrating them and letting them live their best Abundant Life.
