St. John Community Transforms Lobby Into A Warm and Welcoming Space for Residents, Families and Guests to Gather and Connect!

We are thrilled to announce the grand opening of a brand new lobby to the St. John Community! This beautiful entrance has been designed with our residents’ comfort and safety in mind, providing a warm and welcoming environment for all who call our community home.

The St. John lobby builds upon a contribution of its assets to create a warm communal space that showcases the physical and cultural transformation underway at St. John.

“These wonderful changes enrich the vibrancy of our continuing care community,” explained Samantha Rapuk, executive director of St. John. “As a progressive-minded provider, we look forward to welcoming families, guests and the community through our new entryway and sharing all of the wonderful amenities and services we have to offer.”

The completion of the lobby marks the continuation of a number of new initiatives at the St. John Community including the expansion of new residential living apartments for middle-income seniors and modernized personal care apartments.

“This is part of the ongoing mission growth and renaissance efforts at St. John Community,” said David Fenoglietto, Lutheran SeniorLife, President and CEO. “This creates a welcoming atmosphere for everyone who enters the home of the residents living at St John.”

The St. John facility houses the independent living apartments of The Residence of St. John, Edgewood Grove personal care as well as the Specialty Care Center.

“The team worked together to outline a multi-pronged strategy and the new lobby is one very visible piece,” explained Fenoglietto. “It invites a welcoming and cheerful entryway for all that enter our St. John facility.”

One of the most striking pieces of art in the lobby is the beautiful stain glass window depicting Jesus holding a Lamb that has been part of the community for years.

“When people enter the building for the first time, they are in awe,” explained Loralee McLaughlin, one of two St. John’s administrative assistants. “The new lighting makes the area so bright and cheerful. The residents can hardly believe how wonderful the change is.”

“The entrance really creates a wonderful first impression,” added Brenda Hunter, administrative assistant. “It makes you feel good when you see the joy on everyone’s face as they enter our community.”
