Meals on Wheels Beaver County Receives $500 Donation from Armstrong

Sometimes $500 is more than $500. In this case, it’s 100 meals.

Armstrong Utilities, Inc. recently stopped by Meals on Wheels Beaver County with a $500 donation that will help provide approximately 100 meals to people in Beaver County.

Meals on Wheels serves people who may have difficulty getting to the grocery store or preparing meals on their own. The deliveries also give volunteers a chance to check in, say hello and spend a few minutes with the people they visit.

The donation comes during Hunger Action Month, which brings attention to food insecurity and the fact that it affects people right here in our own communities.

“At Armstrong, we believe that no one in our community should have to worry about where their next meal is coming from. Through our Breaking Bread initiative and annual Avenge Hunger campaign, we are committed to raising awareness and helping address food insecurity in the communities we serve,” said Seth Prentice, Community Marketing Manager for Armstrong. “We are proud to support Meals on Wheels Beaver County during Hunger Action Month with a $500 gift that will help provide nutritious meals and meaningful connection to older adults in our community.”

Joelleen Yerace, Vice President for the Lutheran SeniorLife Foundation, thanked the Armstrong team for taking the time to visit and support the program.
