Forever Young Walk/Run

Rare Old Books Presentation

Michael Dabrishus, assistant university librarian at the University of Pittsburgh, will speak on Rare Old Books. The focus of this presentation will be rare books, manuscripts, and archives. He will talk about characteristics of a book that make it rare or collectible, and he will explain how monetary values are assigned to these works. If you are interested in finding out the value of a book you own, please bring it with you.

Frick Art and Historical Center Trip

Located on five acres of beautifully landscaped lawns and gardens in Pittsburgh's East End, the Frick is the legacy of Helen Clay Frick, daughter of Henry Clay Frick, one of America's greatest industrialists and art collectors. You will visit the turn-of-the-20th-century family home that tells the story of Pittsburgh during the Gilded Age. Cost of transportation is $10, cost of the tour is $10. 10th Annual VNA Friendship Luncheon

Please join us for the 10th annual Friendship "Lunch at the Shore" to benefit the VNA Hospice and VNA Inpatient Hospice patients and their families. The cost is $40 per person and includes lunch and a gift basket raffle. Wear your favorite sundress and join the 'shell'-abration by designing your own pair of sandals to be eligible to enter a special drawing. PA Trolley Museum Trip

The visit includes a video presentation about the trolley era, a 4-mile scenic trolley ride aboard one of the museum's restored streetcars, and a visit to the Museum store. Pittsburgh Theological Seminary Trip

Residential living residents at Passavant Community are invited to enjoy this interesting trip to the Kelso Museum of Near Eastern Archaeology at the Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. The museum has a significant collection of ancient, Near Eastern and Palestinian pottery and artifacts brought together by travelers and archaeologists during the past 60 years. Carnegie Museum of Art and Natural History Trip

Quilt Show

Newhaven Court residents are invited to take a trip to the annual Three Rivers Quilt Show. Cost of transportation is $10, tickets to the show are $7. The group will stop for lunch before returning to campus.

Pittsburgh Banjo Club

Residential living residents at Passavant Community are invited to enjoy an evening with friends as we head to the local Elks Club in Pittsburgh, where the Banjo Club holds their weekly practice session. There is no cost for the show, bus transportation is $10. Food and drink at the club are on your own.

Phipps Conservatory Trip

Residential living residents at Passavant Community are invited to visit Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens for the annual Garden and Flower Show. The cost of transportatoin is $10. Admission is $14. The group will stop on the way home for lunch.

March for Meals

Lutheran SeniorLife's Meals on Wheels programs in Aliquippa and Rochester are participating in March For Meals Community Champions Week. This is part of a national campaign to raise awareness of Meals on Wheels programs by engaging volunteers with Meals on Wheels efforts in the local community. 

We invite you to be a part of our efforts in Beaver County by visiting one of our kitchens during Community Champions Week to package or deliver meals for seniors who rely on our program for proper nutrition and social interaction. Because your time is valuable, we are asking for only a 1-2 hour commitment on your choice of weekday mornings March 16-20.
