Free Memory Screenings

Carnegie Museum of Natural History Trip

When: Monday, July 20, 2015 - 9:30amWhere: Pittsburgh, PA

Residential living residents at Passavant Community are invited to take a trip to the Carnegie Museum of National History. The museum maintains, preserves and interprets an extraordinary collection of 22 million objects and scientific specimens used to broaden our understanding of evolution, conservation and biodiversity. The cost of transportation is $10, admission is $14.95 and is payable at the museum. The group will stop on the way home for lunch.

Downsize Your Home, Simplify Your Life

When: Wednesday, July 15, 2015 -
2:00pm to 4:00pm
Where: Overbrook Pointe, Mars, PA

Looking to simplify your life by downsizing? Jill Yesko, certified professional organizer and senior move manager from Discover Organizing, will share tips, tricks and tools of the trade to break out of the shackles of having too much stuff. Air Heritage Museum Tour

When: Tuesday, July 14, 2015 - 10:00amWhere: Beaver Falls, PA

Residential living residents of Passavant Community are invited to take a tour of the Air Heritage Museum. Museum artifacts include aviation-related displays from the early days of flight (civilian, commercial and military) to the present, Japanese artifacts from WWII and other touching memorial displays. Cost of transportation is $8, admission is free.

Meadow Croft Village Trip

When: Wednesday, July 08, 2015 - 11:00amWhere: Meadow Croft Village

Residental living residents at Passavant Community are invited to take a trip to the Meadow Croft Village and Rock Shelter, the oldest site of human habitation in North America. The tour will provide a unique glimpse into the lives of pre-historic hunter-gatherers. This National Historic Landmark features a massive rock overhang used 16,000 years ago for shelter by the first people in North America. Cost of transportation is $10, admission is $5 and payable on the day of the tour. The group will stop on the way home for lunch, cost is on your own. This trip is not handicap accessible.

'Light' Performance

Enjoy a special afternoon with 'Light,' a Christian vocal group that is touring the country. One member of the group is the granddaughter of a Passavant Community resident! Join us for this uplifting and fun choral group's performance

Lunch and Learn

Where: Center at the Mall, Beaver Valley Mall

The Center at the Mall in Beaver Valley Mall will hold an informational session about Elder Law. Participants age 60 and over will receive a complimentary lunch. Lunch cost for those under 60 is only $6. Please call the Center at the Mall to make a reservation at (724) 774-5654.

Pittsburgh Movie Tour

When: Friday, June 26, 2015 - 10:30amWhere: Pittsburgh, PA

Calling all residential living movie buffs at Passavant Community! Celebrate the "Hollywood of the East," where movies and film crews abound. Join your knowledgeable guide as we travel around the city exploring great sites featured in some of Hollywood's blockbuster films, and learning about Pittsburgh's unique and rich film history. The tour is about 2.5 hours and is NOT handicap accessible. Cost of transportation is $10. The price for the tour has not yet been determined.

Direct Care Interviews

When: Tuesday, June 23, 2015 -
8:30am to 6:00pm
Where: St. John Community

Registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and certified nurse assistants are invited to learn about Lutheran SeniorLife's keys to career fulfillment and attend an open interview for nursing and nursing assistant positions at St. John and throughout Lutheran SeniorLife including Passavant Community; VNA, Western PA; and LIFE Programs. No appointment is needed.

Clearview Mall Trip

Newhaven Court residents, it is time to make a list of summer items you need and join us for a trip to the mall. Spring fashions are already on sale! The cost of transportation is $10. 

Meadows Casino Trip

When: Monday, June 22, 2015 (All day)Where: Center at the Mall, Beaver Valley Mall

Members of the Center at the Mall are invited to take a trip to the Meadows Casino. Pre-registration and pre-payment is required. The $30 fee includes a $20 play bonus. Contact the Center at the Mall to register at (724) 774-5654.

Rogers Flea Market Trip

When: Friday, June 19, 2015 - 8:00amWhere: Rogers, Ohio

Residential living residents at Passavant Community are invited to come explore the area's largest open air flea market, with more than 1,600 vendors and more than 5 miles of outside vendor spaces. Cost of transportation is $10. There is no admission fee. Handicap scooter rental is available. 

Phipps Conservatory Trip

When: Thursday, June 18, 2015 - 9:30amWhere: Pittsburgh, PA

Residential living residents at Passavant Community are invited to take a tour of Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens. This is a thriving oasis with many unique environments to explore. Cost of transportation is $10. Cost of admission is $15, and payable at the Conservatory. Lunch and shopping are on your own. 

Corn Hole Tournament

Passavant residents are invited to join the fitness center staff for an afternoon of fellowship and friendly competition, as well as some snacks and refreshments.

Center at the Mall Purse Bash

Mental Aerobics

Blood Pressure Screenings

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

Members of the Center at the Mall at Beaver Valley Mall are invited to take a trip to Lancaster, PA to see Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. The cost of this overnight trip is $220 per person and includes the cost of the bus, overnight accommodations, dinner, breakfast buffet, show ticket and entrance to the Flight 93 Memorial in Shanksville, PA, which we will visit on our way. Chuck Tamblyn Entertainment
