Inspired by Lutheran faith, the foundation serves as a catalyst for transforming the lives of seniors by fostering independence, health, and overall well-being. “The Foundation is dedicated to advancing the quality of life for older adults,” said Foundation President, Jane Bittcher. The foundation works closely with the leadership team of Lutheran SeniorLife, to enhance the quality of care provided to seniors. This includes promoting innovative care models, supporting research, and investing in state-of-the-art facilities to meet the evolving needs of older adults. The foundation also actively engages with the community to raise awareness about aging-related issues and foster a culture of respect and support for seniors. By organizing events, educational programs, and advocacy campaigns, the foundation promotes intergenerational connections and creates a network of support for older adults. The Foundation recently held a picnic for Passavant Community as a way to thank the residents for their support and generosity over this past year. Understanding that the needs of seniors are ever-evolving, the foundation also embraces a proactive approach to enhance the quality of care provided. By fostering an environment that encourages research and innovation, they actively support new strategies, methodologies, and technologies to enhance the care of patients, residents, and participants throughout Western Pennsylvania. “While it might be cliché to say that every dollar we receive counts, at Lutheran SeniorLife Foundation it is true,” explained Foundation President, Jane Bittcher. “We do not use money raised to offset expenses, so all gifts and donations given to the Foundation are used to support the purposes intended. We are so appreciative of our donors, including individuals, churches, and foundations.
