October at St. John Community: A Month’s Worth of Photographs Posted on November 3, 2026 A look through October’s photographs from St. John Community turns up quite a collection: a beautiful sunrise, some unusually decorated pumpkins and a marketing coordinator wearing lederhosen. The last one deserves an explanation. Dave Harmon, St. John’s marketing coordinator, apparently decided that if the community was going to celebrate Oktoberfest, he might as well look the part. And he certainly did, right down to the Bavarian hat and knee socks. It was a beautiful afternoon for the occasion. Residents and employees gathered outdoors for brats and hot dogs fresh off the grill, soft pretzels, cold drinks and a chance to enjoy the fall weather. The celebration would have been perfectly enjoyable without the lederhosen. But the pictures wouldn’t have been nearly as entertaining. At Overbrook Pointe, another set of photographs showed what happens when residents are handed pumpkins, paint and the freedom to do whatever they please. Danielle Hoffman, marketing supervisor for VNA Western Pennsylvania, and Lauri Becker, Overbrook Pointe’s residential services coordinator, organized the afternoon of painting and decorating. Residents had their own ideas about colors, designs and what a properly decorated pumpkin should look like. No two looked quite the same. And then there was the sunrise over St. John Community one Friday morning. It was hard to miss. Sometimes it’s best to just take a moment and enjoy the view.
