The People Behind the Care at Lutheran SeniorLife Posted on April 1, 2026 Some of the most meaningful work happening in our communities does not always receive the attention it deserves. It happens when someone takes an extra minute to sit with a resident who needs company; when a team member notices a participant is having a difficult day and pauses to listen; or when a nurse, aide, driver, cook, housekeeper, therapist, social worker, or office professional shows up ready to give their best to someone else. That is the heart of Lutheran SeniorLife. In March, as we recognized Employee Appreciation Day, we took time to celebrate the people who make that mission possible every day. Across St. John Community, Passavant Community, the LIFE Programs in Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, and Lawrence Counties, the Visiting Nurses Association, The Commons at Stonebrook Village, Center at the Mall, Lutheran Service Society, Meals on Wheels, and the Lutheran SeniorLife Foundation, dedicated team members choose this work because they care deeply about others and believe in the difference it makes. Every role here carries purpose. Whether providing hands-on care, preparing meals, coordinating services, delivering support into someone’s home, or working behind the scenes to keep everything moving forward, our team members are part of the reason families trust us with the people they love most. That trust is never taken lightly. As President and CEO David Fenoglietto shared: “I have the privilege of seeing the work our teams do, and what stands out most is the humanity behind it. You treat people the way you would want your own family treated. You show compassion when someone is facing a hard moment, and you do it day after day without asking for recognition. That kind of care cannot be taught; it comes from who you are. I want you to know how deeply grateful I am for every one of you and for the difference you make in people’s lives.”
