The winter months and cold weather can increase the risk of loneliness in many of us, particularly older adults. Many folks also have increased feelings of anxiety and depression during the cold, dark days of winter. Being alone and feeling isolated also contributes to feelings of loneliness. There could be many reasons for these feelings such as losing your circle of friends, losing your spouse, having a family that is far away, problems with mobility or simply your inability to get out as much as you could during the nicer weather.

Whatever the reason, there is help available through Warmlines. At the other end of the telephone call are compassionate, caring people who want to engage in conversation with you. They are happy to listen and chat with you.
