Make a Gift to Support Benevolent Care

Published: Thursday, December 10, 2015

Dear Friend,

The beautiful story of Joseph and Mary making their way to Bethlehem only to find there was no room at the inn captures the essence of Lutheran SeniorLife's cherished tradition of benevolent care. Keeping our "inn" open for elders, especially for those who have exhausted their financial resources at Passavant Community, St. John Community, LIFE (Living Independence for the Elderly), VNA home care and hospice care, Lutheran Services Society Meals on Wheels and other programs is central to our social ministry.

I would like to think that most of us would not have turned Joseph and Mary away from the inn, that we would have found a way to help this family in their time of need. In the same way, Lutheran SeniorLife could never turn away a senior we serve who has benevolent care needs. Our century old tradition of benevolent care remains strong and speaks to the very heart of our mission. This year an estimated $3 million in benevolent care will be received by those in our care.

As you celebrate the birth of Christ, I ask you to please remember thosed served by Lutheran SeniorLife and to share your blessings with them through a generous gift.

With your help, seniors who have outlived their financial resources will continue to receive dignified and compassionate care. Your gift will enable Lutheran SeniorLife to provide compassionate care and support to the elders we serve throughout western Pennsylvania.

How can your gift help? A gift of $1,000 will provide for one full week of benevolent care or a gift of $143 provides care for one day. A gift of $75 can provide a senior a week of nutritious Meals on Wheels delivered to their home by a caring volunteer. Every act of kindness counts. All gifts, regardless of size, make a difference.

Thank you in advance for your support. On behalf of those whom we serve and staff at Lutheran SeniorLife, we wish for you and your family the true gifts of Christmas - Peace, Joy and Love.

Sincerely,

David Fenoglietto,

President and CEO
