LIFE Beaver County to Hold Community Open House

Published: Tuesday, July 22, 2014

LIFE Beaver County is celebrating its 10 year anniversary by inviting the community to its day center located in the Center Place Plaza at 131 Pleasant Drive in Center Township. The LIFE Beaver County Community Open House will be held on Thursday, August 14 from 3 to 7 p.m. Refreshments, tours of the center, giveaways and opportunities to meet LIFE’s staff will be part of the celebrations.

LIFE (Living Independence for the Elderly) Beaver County, a partnership of Lutheran SeniorLife and Heritage Valley Health System, is an innovative alternative to nursing home care and is designed to restore and preserve an older adult’s ability to live independently in his or her own home or the home of a caregiver. The LIFE Program helps eligible older adults who are living at home by managing their complex medical, functional and social needs. LIFE Beaver County also provides support and assistance to caregivers and family members involved in providing care.

“We are thrilled with the relationship that we have with the Beaver County community. We are so appreciative of how residents of the county and the professional health care community support us. We currently serve over 300 older adults,” said Marie Timpano, Adult Day Health Center Director for LIFE Beaver County. “Offering the ability for people to tour our center and learn more about LIFE through this open house is especially important because our program provides the older adults in Beaver County with yet another excellent option for their long term care.”

Eligible enrollees in LIFE Beaver County have a full range of services available to them at no cost including comprehensive medical care, adult day services, personal care, complete prescription coverage, rehabilitation therapies, housekeeping and laundry services, recreational programs and transportation to and from the LIFE Center where medical and social needs are met, upon agreement to receive all needed health care, including primary care and specialty physician services (other than emergency services) from LIFE Beaver County and its providers.

The LIFE Beaver County program is patterned after the national PACE (Program of All Inclusive Care for the Elderly) program which has been successful across the nation and Pennsylvania, as well as in nearby Butler, Lawrence and Allegheny Counties in which Lutheran SeniorLife operates other LIFE Centers.
