Share Your Blessings With Those In Need

And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. – Luke 2:7

Dear Friend,

The beautiful story of Joseph and Mary making their way to Bethlehem only to find there was no room at the inn captures the essence of Lutheran SeniorLife’s cherished tradition of benevolent care. Keeping our “inn” open for residents, especially for those who have exhausted their financial resources, at Passavant Retirement Community, St. John Specialty Care Center and Living Independence for the Elderly (LIFE) program participants are central to our social ministry and represents an ever-growing need.

I would like to think that most of us would not have turned Joseph and Mary from the inn, that we would have found a way to help that Holy Family on that holiest of nights. In the same way, Lutheran SeniorLife could never turn away a senior we serve who has benevolent care needs. Our century old tradition of benevolent care remains strong and speaks to the very heart of our mission.

As you celebrate the birth of Christ, I ask you to please remember the elders served by Lutheran SeniorLife. To share your blessings through an online donation, click here, then select the Make a Donation option on the left side of the page.

With your help, seniors who have outlived their financial resources will continue to receive dignified and compassionate care. Your gift will enable Lutheran SeniorLife to provide a home, meals, and day and long-term nursing care to elderly residents and blessings for LIFE participants.

How can your gift help? A gift of $728 will provide for one full week of benevolent care, a gift of $104 one full day, a gift of $52 one-half day and $26 one-quarter day of benevolent care.

Thank you in advance for your support. On behalf of our residents and staff, I wish you and your family God’s blessings this Christmas and throughout the New Year.

Sincerely,

Renée M. Pekor

Lutheran SeniorLife Foundation President
