A recreation project begun by participants at LIFE Beaver County has been transformed into a permanent celebration of friendship and love.
Each square on the three Quilts of LIFE is a visual representation of LIFE participants who have passed away.
“All of the participants hold a special place in our hearts,” said former social worker Emma McLafferty, who had a vision to create this memorial. “We wanted to do something to honor their lives in a personal way.”
The completed squares were quilted together by Celia McKim and Carolyn Dillon, members of Christ’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Beaver Falls. They were dedicated at an All Saint’s Day ceremony performed by The Rev. Kim Rapczak, pastor of the church.
