Direct Care Interviews

Where: St. John Community

Registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and certified nurse assistants are invited to learn about Lutheran SeniorLife's keys to career fulfillment and attend an open interview for nursing and nursing assistant positions at St. John and throughout Lutheran SeniorLife including Passavant Community; VNA, Western PA; and LIFE Programs. No appointment is needed.

Clearview Mall Trip

When: Monday, June 22, 2015 - 10:30amWhere: Butler, PA

Newhaven Court residents, it is time to make a list of summer items you need and join us for a trip to the mall. Spring fashions are already on sale! The cost of transportation is $10. 

Meadows Casino Trip

When: Monday, June 22, 2015 (All day)Where: Center at the Mall, Beaver Valley Mall

Members of the Center at the Mall are invited to take a trip to the Meadows Casino. Pre-registration and pre-payment is required. The $30 fee includes a $20 play bonus. Contact the Center at the Mall to register at (724) 774-5654.

Rogers Flea Market Trip

When: Friday, June 19, 2015 - 8:00amWhere: Rogers, Ohio

Residential living residents at Passavant Community are invited to come explore the area's largest open air flea market, with more than 1,600 vendors and more than 5 miles of outside vendor spaces. Cost of transportation is $10. There is no admission fee. Handicap scooter rental is available. 

Phipps Conservatory Trip

When: Thursday, June 18, 2015 - 9:30amWhere: Pittsburgh, PA

Residential living residents at Passavant Community are invited to take a tour of Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens. This is a thriving oasis with many unique environments to explore. Cost of transportation is $10. Cost of admission is $15, and payable at the Conservatory. Lunch and shopping are on your own. 

Corn Hole Tournament

Passavant residents are invited to join the fitness center staff for an afternoon of fellowship and friendly competition, as well as some snacks and refreshments.

Center at the Mall Purse Bash

When: Saturday, June 13, 2015 - 11:00pmWhere: Center at the Mall, Beaver Valley Mall

Mental Aerobics

The phrase 'use it, or lose it' applies to your mind as well as your body. We can keep our minds sharp with a little mental exercise. Each session includes a variety of puzzles, word teasers, trivia, riddles and logic. Come and see how well-tuned your mind is!

Blood Pressure Screenings

While at the mall, stop by the Center at the Mall and receive a free blood pressure screening by Lutheran SeniorLife VNA, Western Pennsylvania.

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

When: Wednesday, June 10, 2015 - 7:00amWhere: Lancaster, PA

Members of the Center at the Mall at Beaver Valley Mall are invited to take a trip to Lancaster, PA to see Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. The cost of this overnight trip is $220 per person and includes the cost of the bus, overnight accommodations, dinner, breakfast buffet, show ticket and entrance to the Flight 93 Memorial in Shanksville, PA, which we will visit on our way. Chuck Tamblyn Entertainment

Michael Kelly Blanchard Concert

Passavant residents are invited for an evening of beautiful entertainment. For more than 20 years, Michael Kelly Blanchard has been writing songs that connect us to the merciful heart of God. As a solo performer on guitar and piano, Michael tells stories with a tender touch to help us laugh and cry at both the human condition and the renewing power of God's unconditional love.

Choir and Handbell Performance

Come join us for a delightful performance by the Passavant Singers followed by Joyful Sounds, Passavant's own handbell choir, in celebration of Zelienople Borough's 175th anniversary. 

Zelienople Past, Present and Future Presentation

When: Thursday, May 28, 2015 - 7:30pmWhere: Passavant Community, Scholl Conference Center

Residents and community members are invited to attend this presentation by the the Zelienople Historical Society in commemoration of the borough's 175th anniversary. This free event will also feature a performance by the Seneca Valley Girls Choir.

Also as part of the anniversary celebration, everyone is welcome to tour the Abundant Life Center between 1 and 4 p.m. on Friday, May 29. Tours will be given from 1-2 p.m. and from 3-4 p.m. of the public areas of this new community center, including Seaman Chapel, Fitness and Wellness Center, Train Room, Gently Used Shop, Creative Arts studio featuring bridge classes and an exhibit of resident art, and more! See our 10 history banners showing the progression and growth of Passavant over its 110-year history. At 2 p.m., there will be a performance by the Passavant Singers and Joyful Sounds handbell choir. Our dining venues will be open and will be offering grab-and-go picnic lunches and ice cream treats for a nominal charge.

Forever Young Walk/Run

Rare Old Books Presentation

When: Tuesday, April 21, 2015 - 2:30pmWhere: Passavant Community, Scholl Conference Center

Michael Dabrishus, assistant university librarian at the University of Pittsburgh, will speak on Rare Old Books. The focus of this presentation will be rare books, manuscripts, and archives. He will talk about characteristics of a book that make it rare or collectible, and he will explain how monetary values are assigned to these works. If you are interested in finding out the value of a book you own, please bring it with you.
