Health & Wellness Ministry Training

Where: Trinity Lutheran Church, Butler, PA
Patty Davidson, Health & Wellness Ministry Coordinator for Lutheran SeniorLife and the Southwestern Pennsylvania Synod of the the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America will present the "ins and outs" of health ministry. This training is especially for those in the congregations (including pastors) who are interested in or are already involved in outreach or health ministry activities. Those completing the training will be commissioned as health ministers. A second date for the training may be offered if enough interest is expressed. Alzheimer's Support Group

Family members, friends and caregivers of those living with Alzheimer's disease are invited to join us for a support group. The group will meet the last Wednesday of every month, and will alternate between St. John and RoseCrest assisted Living, both of which are located on the St. John Community campus in Mars, PA. VNA Grief Classes

VNA, Western Pennsylvania will hold grief classes and support sessions Thursdays in July (7th, 14th, 21st, 28th). Space is limited and registration is required by calling (724) 431-3520 by June 30th.
Free Alzheimer's Association Presentation

SilverSmart Technology Fair

LIFE Lawrence County Community Day

LIFE Lawrence County is celebrating its 5th anniversary with a Community Day, which will include a craft show, art show (featuring art created by our participants), and open house. US Open Volunteer Opportunity

The US Open Men's Golf Championship will be at Oakmont Country Club this year, and Lutheran Service Society invites you, your family, and friends to join us for a volunteer opportunity of a lifetime.
Lutheran Service Society has partnered with the PROM Management Group, the USGA, and many other local non-profit organizations to take advantage of a fundraising opportunity that mingles fun, service and financial gain for our organizations.
By volunteering for one shift at the Lutheran Service Society refreshment tent, located at the 16th tee, you can watch the rest of that day's tournament for free! It will involve serving beverages, snacks, and light foods such as hot dogs and hamburgers.
Parking will be free off site, with a shuttle directly to the front entrance. Food and beverages will be provided to you on the day you are volunteering.
Our fitness center specialists invite you to come to the Center for a variety of fitness classes for varying ability levels. In addition to a morning of healthy fun, visitors can take part in a basket auction and enjoy refreshments. Your $10 donation will benefit the Center at the Mall programming. Senior Day at the Mall

The Beaver County Office on Aging and the Center at the Mall present a special Pittsburgh Pirates themed Senior Day at the Mall. Visitors can browse vendor tables and exhibits featuring senior-related materials and displays, and be entertained by CoCo the Clown. Put on your black and gold and stop in! Center at the Mall Art Exhibition

Local artists and Center at the Mall members are invited to participate in the 4th annual art exhibition. The public is welcome to visit the display as well. The art entry fee is $5 per piece or $20 for five pieces. Art must be submitted to the Center by Tuesday, April 12. Cash prizes will be awarded in various categories. VNA Hospice Friendship Luncheon

Reflective Pastoral Training and Care Course

Lutheran SeniorLife VNA, Western Pennsylvania will hold a Reflective Pastoral Training and Care Course on Tuesdays, beginning March 1st. The course is ideal for pastors, church visitors and other Christians interested in improving or gaining new "helping" skills and/or visiting with individuals in need of emotional and spiritual support. Participants may register for Part I (first six weeks) or Parts I and II. Those completing all 12 weeks are invited to participate in a "next steps" graduation brunch, including final reflection, evaluation and commissioning service. A $25 registration fee covers both Parts I and II.

Black Tie Bingo and Dinner Gala

Joyful Sounds Holiday Concert

Joyful Sounds of Passavant will ring in the season with new handbells. They will be joined by St. Richard's Handbell Choir of Gibsonia for an exciting celebration of holiday music. Both ensembles will present individual selections along with several collaborative works. There is no admission fee, but a "free-will" offering will be accepted that will benefit the benevolent care fund. The concert is open to the public, so invite family and friends to join us for an afternoon of holiday cheer!
