Enjoy this special evening in honor of St. Patrick's Day. Ryan Stauffer has been making and playing the bagpipes for 25 years. He will play many Irish and Scottish favorites on the Great Highland Bagpipe, the Border pipe and the Scottish small pipes. You will enjoy a blend of marches, airs, jigs, reels, strathspeys and hornpipes. You don't want to miss this celebration!
Engineering is all around us. From the things we buy to the services we use, we are touched by engineering every day. Participants in this program will become the engineers, working together to test shapes of bridges for strength, constructing a cantilever, changing supports on a tower, and assembling the parts of a pen. Wendell-August Forge Trip

Out of the ashes the new forge has finally opened. We will travel to Grove City and be able to see the craftsmen working at their benches. The shop will also feature many treasures. Carnegie Science Center Trip

Special exhibits for March include the Miniature Railroad Village opening for its 90th season. It features hundreds of wonderfully realistic animated scenes that illustrate how people lived, worked and played in our region during an era spanning the 1880's to the late 1930's. A replica of the historic Manchester Farms is the latest gem added to this extraordinary display. There is also the Highmark SportsWorks exhibit which includes 30 hands-on exhibits exploring and discovering the physics of sports, nutrition and health. On display also is Roboworld where you will learn how robots sense, think and act. Omnimax Theater featured films are "To the Arctic" and "Flight of the Butterflies." Cost of transportation is $8. First Annual LIFE Program Purse Bash

The LIFE Programs in Beaver, Butler and Lawrence Counties will hold the first annual LIFE Programs Purse Bash on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at the Center Social Hall in Aliquippa. Doors open at 11 a.m. All proceeds are directed toward the LIFE Blessings Program, which benefits the more than 400 seniors enrolled in the LIFE Programs.
Tickets are $25 and include lunch and five chances to win authentic designer purses as well as other opportunities to win purses and accessories by Coach, Vera Bradley and more. Attendees will also have the opportunity to purchase unique gift and craft items and to enter to win a gift basket.

Be My Valentine Cookie Drop-Off

The Fitness Center is coordinating a "Be My Valentine" Cookie Drop-Off to show our appreciation for our local Harmony Emergency Medical Service. We're asking residents and employees who enjoy baking to consider bringing two or three dozen homemade cookies to the Fitness Center by 3 p.m. Feel free to include a card or note with your cookies to show your affection for those who run to our aid when there is an emergency. Please package the cookies in sturdy disposable wrapping. Contact the Fitness Center if you plan to participate.
