Veteran Recognition Football Game

Community veterans are invited to participate in a veteran recognition ceremony during the Seneca Valley Raiders football game. Just Ducky Tour

When: Monday, August 25, 2014 - 11:00amWhere: Pittsburgh, PA

Just Ducky Tours takes riders on Pittsburgh's only adventure through the city, on land and on water. Each excursion begins at historic Station Square before waddling downtown for the ride of your life. The boat travels through the city's business district, past local government buildings and the headquarters of some Fortune 500 companies. After going on a tour through the city, you will splash into one of the rivers to offer a view of the city skyline. After the tour, we will eat lunch at any of the fine restaurants in Station Square, or take some time to shop. Transportation is $10, the tour is $22. Lernerville Speedway Trip

When: Friday, August 22, 2014 - 6:30pmWhere: Lernerville, PA

Residential living residents at Passavant Community are invited to come out to a night at the races. Enjoy an evening of Fab Four Racing which offers the top three divisions of race cars, plus Pure Stock. They have 410 Sprints, Super Late Models and Dirt Car Big Block Modified every Friday night. Pymatuning State Park Trip

When: Monday, August 18, 2014 - 8:30am

Passavant Community's residential living residents are invited to travel to Pymatuning State Park for a day of sun, fun and interesting things to see and do. First we will stop at the Pymatuning Spillway, an area where the fish are plentiful. A fish feeding station is available for people with disabilities. We will then head to the Linesville Fish Hatchery which is responsible for stocking five million adult trout and salmon and 90 million walleye each year. Finally we will visit the Wildlife Learning Center Museum which contains exhibits with native waterfowl, mammals and artifacts from earlier days of sport hunting. A boxed lunch will be provided. 10th Annual Grandparent's Race

When: Saturday, August 16, 2014 -
6:00am to 12:00pm
Where: Passavant Community

Attention runners and walkers of all ages!

The Lutheran SeniorLife Passavant Community 10th annual Grandparent's Race wil be held on August 16. Proceeds benefit the Passavant Community benevolent care fund.

The race is a Triple Trot Challenge, consisting of a 10-mile run, 5K run and walk and a one-mile family fun run and walk through and around the Passavant campus. All participants will receive an official long-sleeve race t-shirt, a goody bag and refreshments following the race. Click here for a race application.

LIFE Beaver County Open House

LIFE Beaver County is celebrating its 10 year anniversary by inviting the community to visit its day center located in the CenterPlace Plaza at 131 Pleasant Drive in Center Township. Refreshments, tours of the center, giveaways and opportunties to meet LIFE's staff will be part of the celebrations.

Travel the World Dining Journey

When: Tuesday, August 12, 2014 - 5:00pmWhere: Overbrook Pointe Dining Room

Residents at Overbrook Pointe are invited to take part in the Travel the World Dining Journey. Each monthly dinner will feature internationally inspired cuisine. Those who attend all 12 events will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a Captain's Dinner for six.

August's theme is Safari in Africa.

Old Stone House Trip

When: Saturday, August 09, 2014 - 11:00amWhere: Slippery Rock, PA

Residential living residents at Passavant Community are invited to tour the Old Stone House, a historic inn and museum of rural life. The Stone House was built in 1822 by John Brown as a stagecoach stop and tavern to accommodate business from Pittsburgh to Erie Pike. During its long history, the Stone House served as a local post office and was used as a muster point duing the Civil War. Our group will be attending the French and Indian War Experience, complete with military war encampments, drills, battles, demonstrations and much more. Gently Used Shop Bag Sale

The Gently Used Shop at Passavant Community is hosting a Bag Sale through the end of September. Bags, provided by the shop, can be filled with any clothing (excluding jewelry) or household item for the total price of $2. Stop by the shop at 210 Burgess Drive during regular hours on Tuesday, Thursday and the last Wednesday of the month from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. All proceeds benefit the Passavant Community benevolent care fund.

Take Me Out To The Ballgame Presentation

When: Tuesday, July 29, 2014 - 2:30pmWhere: Passavant Community, Scholl Auditorium

You don't want to miss this wonderful program presented by Heinz History Center Volunteer Ambassador Jim Haller. This is a look at baseball history from the city that created the first World Series. His presentation is about growing up in Pittsburgh and following the Pittsburgh Pirates. It is a joy for all those who remember the World Series winning teams of 1960, 1971 and 1979. Jim Haller has logged nearly 1,000 hours at the Heinz History Center as a concierge for special programs and events and as a docent for youth and adult tours at both the History Center and at the Fort Pitt Museum. Cracker Barrel Trip

Rivers of Steel Tour

Passavant Community's residential living residents are invited for this docent-let tour of the Bost Building and Pump House telling the story of iron and steel workers during the Homestead lockout and strike. Cost of transportation is $10 and the tour is $12. The group will stop on the way home for lunch. Please sign up in the Travel and Events Office by July 18. Waterfront Shopping Trip

Passavant Community's residenital living residents are invited to a day of shopping at the Waterfront. Built on the site of the former Homestead Steel Mill, the Waterfront in Homestead provides 260 acres of shopping, entertainment and dining. This upscale shopping complex is one of the cool spots in Pittsburgh, with great ambience and action along Pittsburgh's rivers. There's even an old-fashioned village square surrounded by the shops, and the Loews Cineplex Waterfront Theater for those who do not wish to shop. Cost of transportation is $10. Mars Train Station Tour

Passavant Community's residential living residents are invited to tour the Mars Train Station, the red caboose, the Adams Shortline, the Butler Shortline Trolley Route and the gift shop. Passavant Community Dedication Ceremony

When: Wednesday, June 04, 2014 - 3:00pmWhere: Passavant Community

After three years of planning and construction, Lutheran SeniorLife's mission to provide an Abundant Life® for our residents will be more easily met, as the new Passavant Community and Abundant Life® Center are finally revealed at a Dedication and Celebration on Wednesday, June 4, 2014.

Invited guests will be treated to a Bell Choir presentation in the new Scholl Conference Center at 2:45 p.m., followed by a Dedication Program at 3 p.m. Music and song will be performed by the Passavant Singers and Seaman Church Choir. Comments will be given by David Fenoglietto, president and CEO of Lutheran SeniorLife and Laura Roy, executive director of Passavant Retirement Community. Bishop Kurt Kusserow of the Southwestern Pennsylvania Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America will perform the sermon. Tours of the new building and refreshments will follow at 4 p.m.

On June 5, there is an invitation only event for prospects from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
