Bayernhof Museum Trip

When: Friday, November 21, 2014 - 9:30am

Passavant Community's residential living residents are invited to tour this unique 19,000 square foot museum, former home of Charles Brown III, the museum's founder. The museum houses a large collection of music boxes and other automatic musical instruments, as well as many other interesting items. The building itself provides guests with a most interesting experience as they pass from room to room, at times through hidden doors and secret passages. Almost the entire south side of the house is glass, affording fantastic views up and down the Allegheny River. We will stop on the way back for lunch at Eat 'n Park in Gibsonia. Cost of the tour and transportation is $10 each.

Black and Gold Tailgate Party

It's that time of year to celebrate Steelers football and the rest of our black and gold teams! Join us at the Fitness Center for our annual tailgating party featuring classic tailgating food, games and fellowship. Remember to wear your black and gold, bring a friend and enjoy the party!

12 Days of Fitness

Monday, November 17, 2014 (All day) to Sunday, November 23, 2014 (All day)
Where: Passavant Community Fitness & Wellness Center

Everyone knows the age-old Christmas song "The 12 Days of Christmas." The Fitness Center would like to bring something similar to the residents of Passavant Community called "The 12 Days of Fitness." The contest runs from November 17 to December 23. Stop by the Fitness Center to pick up a game card. Each card contains 12 activities. If you complete them all by December 23, you will receive a prize. Call the Fitness Center at X3456 for more information.

Tara's Country Inn Trip

When: Sunday, November 16, 2014 - 9:30am

Passavant Community's residential living residents are invited to visit Tara, a country inn themed after the movie Gone With The Wind, complete with costumed belles, antiques and the largest Civil War gun and memorabilia collection west of Gettysburg. After touring the building, we will enjoy a Sunday brunch. Cost of transportation is $10, cost of the tour and brunch is $21.97 plus gratuity.

Phipps Conservatory Trip

When: Friday, November 14, 2014 - 10:00am

Residents from Passavant Community's Newhaven Court are invited to view the Christmas display at Phipps Conservatory, including the trees, poinsettias and other holiday flowers, as well as the Chihuly glass display. Cost of admission is $14. Lunch is on your own at the deli. Transportation is $10. For more information, contact Chris at X5014.

Veteran's Reception

All Passavant Community veterans and their spouses are invited to join the Greater Cranberry Men's Quartet as we salute our vets with song. Refreshments will be served. Reservations are required and can be made in the Travel and Events Office.

Red Lobster Trip

Holiday Glam Fashion Show

The annual St. John Community fashion Show, 'Holiday Glam,' will take place on Saturday, November 1 at Treesdale Golf and Country Club. Doors will open at 11 a.m. Proceeds benefit the St. John activities department and Secret Santa program. Click here for more details.

Brady's Run Quilt Show

Passavant Community residents are invited to the Brady's Run Quilt Show. Some beautiful quilts made by local crafters will be on display. Several vendors will offer fabrics and patterns for sale. Cost of transportation is $8. For more information call Chris at X5014.

Farewell to Olde Main

Where: Passavant Community, Scholl Auditorium

As we prepare to begin making new memories in the Abundant Life Center, join us in celebrating and saying farewell to Olde Main, the place that has meant so much to so many. Community members are welcome to join us for refreshments, musical performances by the Passavant Singers and an open microphone session to give everyone a chance to reminisce. Participants will be invited to share a written memory which will become part of a work of art to be hung in the new building.

The Simple Life Amish Country Tour

When: Monday, October 20, 2014 - 9:00am

Passavant Community residential living residents are invited to tour Amish country in a unique and unforgettable way. We will stop at an Amish farm where you can pick pumpkins and gourds, watch Amish work and play as you view their beautiful homes and farms, and learn more about their simplistic lives. Other tour destinations include an Amish greenhouse, quilt shop and fabric shop, schoolhouse and a covered bridge. We will stop and have lunch at Tavern on the Square. Transportation is $10, Amish tour is $18. Lunch and shopping are on your own.

Soergel's Orchard and Country Store

When: Friday, October 17, 2014 - 10:00am

Passavant Community residential living residents are invited to enjoy the fresh country air and the wonderful smells of Soergel's Orchards. Baked goods, produce, candies, jams, coffee, ice cream, country crafts and fall plants are available for purchase.

Newhaven Court residents are invited to tour the orchard and store on Tuesday, October 21 at 10:30 a.m.

Low Vision Health Fair

When: Wednesday, October 15, 2014 - 1:00pmWhere: Wittenberg Activity Room, Passavant Community

If you or someone you love is experiencing difficulties with impaired vision, please join us for this informative Health Fair. Visitors will have the opportunity to speak with occupational therapists, interact with technologies and assistive devices for low vision and receive educational information. Vision screenings will also be offered.

Walk to End Alzheimer's Disease

When: Saturday, October 11, 2014 - 8:00amWhere: Heinz Field

Did you know that every 68 seconds someone develops Alzheimer's disease, the 6th leading cause of death? Currently there are more than 15 million caregivers of people with Alzheimer's.

Please join St. John Community in the Pittsburgh Walk to End Alzheimer's. Pre-walk festivities begin at 8 a.m. Opening ceremonies begin at 9:30 a.m. You may choose to walk either the 1 or 2.5 mile route.

Lutheran SeniorLife has made a generous contribution to the Alzheimer's Association. We are not asking any families for donations for this event, just to come and join us in a show of support and solidarity in the battle to end Alzheimer's.

Moraine State Park Trip

Passavant residents in Newhaven Court are invited to take a trip to Brown's Country Kitchen in Portersville for lunch, followed by a boat ride around Moraine State Park. Cost of the trip is $8, cost of lunch is on your own. For more information contact Chris at X5014
