Thank You, Pastors!

As our way of celebrating Pastor Appreciation Month this October, Lutheran SeniorLife organized fun and relaxing activities during Theological Convocation, which is held each year as a time of fellowship, worship, and learning for rostered ministers of the ELCA’s Southwestern Pennsylvania Synod.

Chair massages and foot reflexology were provided by professional massage therapists throughout the afternoon. One of the participants raved, “Getting this massage is one of the highlights of my year!”

Another activity was a double-elimination cornhole tournament. After several rounds of competitive play in chilly air and soggy grass, Pastor Angela Smith of Trinity Lutheran Church in New Brighton and Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Monaca and Pastor Brandon Johns of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Zelienople won the single set of victor medals. Before they were named champions, they bested Pastor Kara Propst of Salem Lutheran Church in Delmont and Pastor Bob Schaefer of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Monroeville, who – until that final match-up – had gone undefeated throughout the entire tournament.

The winners were presented with their medals prior to that evening’s meal, which was upgraded as an added token of appreciation from Lutheran SeniorLife.

Thank you to all rostered ministers for your generous care and support of your congregations, communities, and ministry organizations!
