Talk about clowns on call!

When a clown visit is requested for a resident of the Passavant Retirement Community in Zelienople, PA, the caring clowns who respond are those who live right in the community.

“We make visits to people who need cheering up or some sunshine in their lives,” says Cathy Reid, Life Enrichment Coordinator of Passavant Retirement Community. “That’s what we do, what we’re here for.

Millions have seen the famous World War II photos of the mushroom clouds over Japan after U.S. warplanes bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Albert Harris Jr., 89, was one of the first six people who developed the original photographs taken from those warplanes in August 1945.

Mr. Harris is a World War II veteran and was an Army photographer. The planes’ pilots brought the film to Mr.

A dozen students from Aquinas Academy in Hampton brought the sunshine of a brilliant Sunday afternoon with them when they came to St. John Specialty Care Center in Mars Sept. 20.

Many of the patients there are bedridden, so the visitors are always a treat, but these young people had more than visiting in mind. They arrived to paint colorful scenes on ceiling tiles above the beds of patients.
