St. John Specialty Care Center Continuum of Care
An Interdisciplinary Approach...A Continuum of Care
Lutheran SeniorLife maintains a staff of professionals from a variety of disciplines who receive ongoing training in the latest advances in Alzheimer's care and treatment. A team of physicians and support staff work together to help residents live at an optimum level of health, function and self-esteem. Located at the St. John’s Specialty Care Center and Passavant Retirement Community, our staff is experienced in nursing, dietetics, social services, rehabilitation services, pastoral care and activity services.
Our Alzheimer's program of specialized care includes activities, support, therapy and treatment appropriate for each phase of the disease. This program includes several forms of therapy specially designed for individuals and small groups, such as:
• Music and pet therapy
• Craft and culinary activities
• Reminiscent therapy
• Sensory activities
Beyond that, our senior living communities provide a continuum of care that enables our professional staff to maintain their knowledge and relationships with seniors through every stage of Alzheimer's. The continuity and personal knowledge of the resident is an important benefit in their level of care and contributes to their ability to function normally. |
