LIFE Butler

Lutheran SeniorLife opened its latest LIFE Butler program in the fall of 2008. LIFE Butler is a partnership between Lutheran SeniorLife and Butler Health System.

LIFE (Living Independence for the Elderly) currently has a program in Beaver County (LIFE Beaver) and Pittsburgh (LIFE Pittsburgh) and the new program now operates at 229 Diamond St. in Butler, just behind the Butler County Courthouse.

LIFE offers seniors who have difficulty managing their own needs independently at home a comprehensive, medical management and social support care and services at a central location.

Any Butler County resident who is 60 or older and is eligible for Medicaid or able to pay privately is eligible for the program.

A LIFE team assessment also must determine that the resident can safely live in their own home while obtaining LIFE services. Program participants will be bused to the LIFE center several times a week for services throughout the day. The number of days differs for individual participants.
