Volunteer Opportunities
Passavant Retirement Community is looking for volunteers in the following departments:
Nursing Activities Department
- Shopping Trip Assistant - once a month from 9:30 a.m. - 3 p.m., and once a month from 12 p.m. - 3 p.m.
Personal Care Activities Department
- Music Appreciation Leader - lead a group using your own or provided materials. Two Thursdays a month from 1 - 2 p.m.
- Special Needs Visitor - assist a resident with developmental needs with a visit, one-on-one games and activities
- Science for Seniors Leader - lead and discuss science learning experiments weekly or monthly, date and time to be discussed
Miscellaneous
- Hydration Cart Assistant - assist residents with maintaining proper hydration while providing social visits. Any Tuesday through Thursday afternoon from 1-4 p.m.
- Gizmos and Thingamajigs Assistant (Tech Class Assistant)
- Friendly Visitor: Short Term Care - interact with short term nursing residents who are in recovery from a recent hospital stay providing socializaton and light activity in their room. Afternoons are best.
- Hospitality Cart Assistant - provide social interaction while supplying short term residents a selection of in-room activities. Afternoons 1-4 p.m.
- Caregiver Support Visitor - provides support to residential living and personal care resident couples where one spouse is in a more frail condition and the other spouse is the caregiver. Interacts with the spouse needing light assistance and a caring presence through visiting and activity in their home. Volunteer does not provide direct care.
- Minstrels for the Lord - instrumentalists visit with residents in the final stages of life or those who are anxious. Instruments and training are provided.
