How Your Gift Helps

Fulfilling the social ministry of care for seniors is made possible with the generous support of dedicated people like you. Lutheran SeniorLife provides elders with a continuum of services so that they may experience a more Abundant LifeSMregardless of their physical condition or financial circumstances.

As the number of seniors continues to grow, so too does the need for benevolent care for the women and men residing within our communities and long term care.

Each year Lutheran SeniorLife provides substantial benevolent care to residents who have outlived their savings. For the 65 percent of nursing care residents on medical assistance, Lutheran SeniorLife accepts reduced payments that fall short of the cost of their care. Together, benevolent care, subsidies and allowances total nearly $10 million annually.

Annual sustaining gifts and contributions for special projects support benevolent care, quality of life enhancements, and programs and services for elders to live safely and independently.

Through the Lutheran SeniorLife Embracing Abundant LifeSMCapital Campaign, 1,460 donors contributed more than $2.5 million dollars toward the construction of RoseCrest Assisted Living and Memory Support Center, a loving and safe home for men and women living with Alzheimer’s disease or other form of dementia. Additional gifts to support the Center and its programs for residents are welcomed.

Gifts to the Foundation can be directed to benevolent care or specifically to Passavant Retirement Community, St. John Specialty Care Center, the LIFE (Living Independence for the Elderly) Programs, and RoseCrest Assisted Living and Memory Support Center.
