Passavant Retirement Community

Associate Director - Residential Living (FT)
This Associate Director is responsible for oversight and management of the Assisted Living Programs at Passavant Retirement Community. The Associate Director ensures compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, standards and requirements and ensures adherence to operational policies and procedures. Actively fosters and implements principles of an Abundant Life philosophy to promote and sustain person-centered care and wellness for those who are served and those who serve. Serves in a leadership role to develop and lead Continuous Quality Improvement projects, resident services meetings and Safety Committee meetings monthly. Prepares revenue, operating and capital budgets and supports the wise stewardship of physical and financial assets to meet established fiscal goals.

The Associate Director provides strong leadership, communication and professional staff support and training to sustain and improve employee morale, staff efficiencies and resident satisfaction. Requirements for this position include: Bachelor's degree related to Health Care Administration, Master's in Health Care Administration or Business Administration equivalent preferred. Personal Care Home Administrators certification required. Nursing Home Administrators license preferred. Three to five years of progressive experience in managing staff and revenue/expense performance within a long-term care or health care related business environment preferred. Experience with project management and general ledger budgeting tools and computer literacy with proficiency in PC operations and software applications highly desired.

Director of Nursing (FT)
The Director of Nursing (DON) is responsible for the overall planning, development, organization and progressive direction of the nursing services department in accordance with current federal, state and local regulations as well as within the philosophical framework of the organization and Continuous Quality Improvement principles. This position requires an exceptionally caring and creative individual who will ensure that the highest degree of quality nursing care is administered to all residents with respect and continuous recognition of their rights and through well developed standards of care, which include strict adherence to the State Nurse Practice Act. Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions.

The DON ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including all appropriate records, files, etc. and maintains nursing guidelines by writing, reviewing and revising policies and procedures. Ensures high levels of customer service. Monitors resident satisfaction and manages for quality including making routine rounds, monitoring and reporting; use of tools for diagnosis and problem solving; teamwork; customer based planning; and establishing and maintaining a vision for the department. Requires a Bachelor's degree (B.S.N) in nursing from four-year college or university; Master's degree (M.S.N.) preferred. A minimum of 5 years progressive supervisory experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is also required; experience with Long-Term Care preferred.

Director of Environmental Services (FT)
The Director of Environmental Services shall be responsible for the effective management of all areas of operation regarding Housekeeping, Laundry, Custodial Service and Floor Maintenance. The Director of Environmental Services is also responsible for ensuring an aesthetically pleasing environment is available for all residents, guests, and visitors throughout the entire campus. Responsibilities include directing and managing all Environmental Services Department activities (Housekeeping, Laundry, Custodial and Floor Maintenance) in order to maintain efficient and consistent operating procedures 24/7, including but not limited to cleanliness. Develop and evaluate the effectiveness of Environmental Services Policies and Procedures for the campus. Develops and maintains standards for routine performance to ensure an aesthetically pleasing environment is available to all residents and visitors. Ensures compliance with administrative, legal and regulatory requirements of all governmental and accrediting agencies (Department of Health, Department of Public Welfare, OSHA, etc.) as they relate to environmental services. Coordinates implements and evaluates Continuous Quality Improvement programs to maintain high standards of service, including performing routine inspections and audits of the property and facilities. Ensures a high level of customer service and resident satisfaction throughout the campus. Research, evaluate and implement consistent chemical program and equipment purchases. Operates in accordance with budgetary constraints and using approved vendors. Manages the implementation of the linen contract to ensure that an adequate supply of appropriate linen is provided to the residents and to ensure that the linen expense is minimized. Achieves financial objectives by preparing the operating budget, providing input to the capital budget and scheduling, managing expenditures, analyzing variances, compiling and studying costs and initiating corrective actions when appropriate.

Ensures an effective working relationship with the union by actively participating in labor management meetings, adhering to the contract and investigating and responding to grievances, when appropriate. Actively participates in the Infection Control Committee for the campus. Requires an Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Healthcare experience preferred. At least five (5) years progressive supervisory.

Human Resources Assistant II (FT)
Responsible for providing support in the functional areas of the Human Resource Department, including but not limited to: recruitment and retention, maintenance of personnel records, employee and labor relations and benefits administration. Position is responsible for performing necessary data entry and retrieval associated with a human resource information system, coordinating new hire orientation and providing clerical support to the facility Human Resource Director. Requires an associates degree and minimum five years experience in human resources.

Ability to respect the unique responsibility of this position and hold confident the business of the employer and respect the confidence about employees, staff and administration. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Computer literate.

Dining Services Production Supervisor (FT)
The Production Supervisor supervises and coordinates activities of the food production staff in the preparation of meals. Must have knowledge of portion control, kitchen equipment and general knowledge of therapeutic diets. Ability to read and follow quantity recipes in regard to weights and measurements of ingredients. Prior supervisor experience needed. Food service experience is required.

Dining Services Assistant (PT, Casual)
The Service Assistant combines a variety of job functions to assist in the daily operations of the Dining Services Department. The Service Assistant is responsible for the set-up/service/sanitation of meals to residents, staff and visitors and for special functions. Responsibilities include dishwashing operations, pot/pan processing, staff and visitor meal service, snack shop, service, sanitation and food preparation. Daylight and after school positions available; experience helpful. Hour requirements vary; every other weekend work required; no late night work required.

Clinical Coordinator (FT)
The Clinical Coordinator directs through the unit coordinators and staff/charge nurses, the activities for the nursing staff. Clinical Coordinators conduct nursing rounds at least twice per individual shift, distributing and receiving reports from other clinical coordinators, unit coordinators and staff/charge nurses. Inspect facility and nursing areas for compliance with federal, state and local standards and regulations. Perform all professional nursing duties, including the supervision of unit coordinators, staff/charge nurses and nurse aides. Administers all resident care policies to assure quality care. Promotes and interprets infection control policies, policies and procedures regarding disaster plans and the safety of residents, employees and visitors. Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school and two years of long-term care experience including supervisory experience. Graduate of accredited school of nursing and must have current RN license.

LPN (FT, Per Diem)
The LPN assumes responsibility for resident care through the performance of professional nursing duties. Responsibilities include maintaining clinical records as well as documentation and transcription of physician orders. The LPN adheres to administrative and departmental policies and procedures including by not limited to safety, health and confidentiality and is involved in all aspects of resident care. Current LPN license needed and previous experience in geriatrics preferred. Shift and every other weekend work required.

Certified Nurse Aide (Per Diem)
The Nurse Aide assists nursing personnel to provide non-professional nursing care and simple technical nursing services under the direction and supervision of a licensed professional nurse or licensed practical nurse. Duties and responsibilities related primarily to the physical care, safety and emotional well being of residents. Current PA certification required. Experience preferred.

Housekeeping Aide (PT)
The Housekeeping Aide performs a variety of cleaning duties as assigned in order to provide an aesthetically pleasing as well as antiseptically clean and safe environment for residents. Duties include custodial floor cleaning. Work is eight (8) hours per day (Saturday and Sunday 3 p.m. - 11:30 p.m.); every other weekend for a total of 16 hours per two week pay period.

Certified Nurse Aide (PT) 11 p.m. - 7 a.m.
The Nurse Aide assists nursing personnel to provide non-professional nursing care and simple technical nursing services under the direction and supervision of a licensed professional nurse or licensed practical nurse. Administers and documents medication administration according to DPW approved Medication Training course(s) including oral, anal, inhalation, eye, ear, subcutaneous, topical routines of administration. Maintains competency as required by regulation. Duties and responsibilities related primarily to the physical care, safety and emotional well being of residents. Current PA certification required. Need to pass Med test. Experience preferred.

Receptionist (PT, Casual)
Responsible for operation of the switchboard, paging system and in-house radio system. Provides answers to inquiries according to the established policies approved for release of information; receives, screens and gives directions to residents, visitors, guests and sales representatives; assists with miscellaneous office duties which include computer utilization of Word, Excel and Outlook.

Resident Coordinator (PT) 11 p.m. - 7 a.m.
Responsible for assisting residents with activities of daily living and for developing and implementing strategies for promoting increased levels of self-care within a service plan. Develops and prioritizes daily schedule based on resident need. Performs job functions within a team atmosphere; consistently and regularly communicates with other team members. Will require passing of mandatory medication administration exam and passing of mandatory competency exam as required by Department of Public Welfare.

Clinical Coordinator (FT)

RN-Unit Manager (FT)
The Unit Manager maintains overall responsibility for coordinating the total management of designated nursing unit. The Unit Manager takes initiative, and is reliable to follow through on resident and employee concerns brought to their attention. Responsibilities include, but not limited to: oversight of the provision of direct nursing care and health care services, meeting financial goals, supervision of staff, conducting staff competency and performance evaluations, achieving compliance with local, state and federal regulations governing skilled nursing facilities. Current RN license, minimum of two years nursing experience and have an understanding of state and federal regulations. Excellent clinical and managerial skills, organizational capabilities and excellent written and oral communication skills.

RN - Infection Prevention (PT)
Develop and implement the infection control surveillance program and policies and procedures for the facility inclusive of those reports requiring submission to the Dept. of Health and Patient Safety Authority. Serves as the Infection Prevention Specialist (IPS) as defined by the PA Patient Safety Authority (PSA). Responsible for coordinating the annual resident and employee immunization programs. Responsible for developing and maintaining infection control policies and procedures in keeping with current industry standards. Follows Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines related to skilled nursing facilities. Responsible for submitting original policies and updates as well as confirmed infections to the PA Safety Reporting System (PA-PSRS) as required under the PA Health Associated Infections (HAI) Act 52. Current RN license and two years of clinical experience required.

Implements activities/programs that encourage independence. BA from a 4-year college or university in related field; or one to two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Good written and expressive skills meeting the documentation requirements of Recreation Services. Experience in geriatrics.

Production Assistant (FT)
Prepares all salads, baked goods and assists the cook(s) in meal production as assigned. These food items are served to the residents, visitors and staff. Must have knowledge of portion control, kitchen equipment and general knowledge of therapeutic diets. Ability to read and follow quantity recipes in regard to weights and measurements of ingredients. Experience preferred.
